FOP and sermon today

im glad i went for FOP (festival of praise) @ indoor stadium ytd night with LGee =) i had lotsa fun and the songs really touched my heart. i will go again next year! i still rmb the date. 5&6 of aug! wee~

here is a song that really touched me. there was another but i forgot =x
the title is he never sleeps by don moen. and COINCIDENTALLY we sang this song this morning too...!

When you've prayed every prayer that you know how to pray
Just remember the Lord will hear and the answer in on it's way
Our God is able
He is mighty
He is faithful
And He never sleeps He never slumbers
He never tires of hearing our prayer
When we are weak He becomes stronger
So rest in His love and cast all of your cares on Him
Do you feel that the Lord has forgotten our need
Just remember that God is always working in ways you cannot see
Our God is able
He is mighty He is faithful

and then as for today's sermon, i felt it was REALLY good! though my SG members felt that it was boring =( the topic was on....WORRYING! (side track: weee~ miss my little lovelies. ahaha. glad i could come back and be ur SGL again! looking forward to SG outing~)
i am a SUPER worrywart. i worry about EVERYTHING.
here is wad someone said 40% of the things we worry about is about things that will NEVER happen. 30% is of things that HAVE ALREADY happened and 12% is of what others' think and 8% of uneccesary health problems. (i forgot the remaining 10% =x)

we can worry about 2 things. things we can control and things we cannot. for things we cannot. obviously. stop worrying about it coz its useless. for things we can control. DO smth about it so we won't worry anymore.

and i felt that the one point that really reached into me the most is this point : worrying is FAITHLESS.
we worry because we don't believe that god is greater than our problems and that he can solve them. most of the time we rely on ourselves FIRST. before going to him. and the speaker said my FAV verse from jeremiah 29:11-133
11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

the most impt part is to call upon him, pray to him and seek him with all our hearts (having faith and believing) then, will he give what he has promised us. most of the time we want his promise. but do we seek him with all our hearts?

and besides, we should worry more about our heavenly things, like our treasures in heaven and god's promise to us, rather than earthly things
